About me
Born in Wales, I now live in Surrey, England. I suspect that I must have been Chinese in a former life, as I've lived through some 'interesting' times, experienced the gamut of emotions and have been in some extraordinary situations. I firmly believe that my study and practice of Emotional Intelligence techniques in a time of personal turmoil saved my sanity - that and writing about and on anything and everything.
I started school at two and a half and have loved books all my life. Some of my earliest memories are being 'in' the story I was reading and I can't remember not being able to read. Having a good memory meant that I was able to pass exams well too, so I have two degrees, one in French from the University of London, Royal Holloway College, which was one of the best times of my life, and one in Marketing, which I gained as an adult from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
I now get paid to write every day (to see how I could help your company through my copywriting, click here) and have a new book, a sitcom and a screenplay on the boil at the moment plus an idea for a short, animated film on grammar - really! (So, if Nick Park is reading this, please get in touch...) My next books will be about how to survive divorce, the life and work of Abraham Maslow and reincarnation, using real examples from regression and channeling. I'm not sure which order they will hit the shelves though. In my 'spare' time I sing with a wonderful a capella choir called Earthly Voices, enjoy walking, cooking, rugby, people watching and traveling - and play a vicious game of Scrabble!
I have a wonderful son, who is kind, intelligent, handsome, charming and much more streetwise than I will ever be, and the spirit of some gorgeous cats. Now that my last little one has passed, that's it for pusses for a while, as I've lived with them for the last 30 years and don't want to turn into that 'nutty cat woman' just yet! My favourite charity is Rainbow Trust Children's Charity, based in Leatherhead, and I volunteer for them whenever I can. To read about the wonderful work they do, www.rainbowtrust.org.uk
Finally, I have, at last, 'tuned in' to my spiritual side and I find that the more I trust in Spirit, the more people who are on my wavelength are put in my path. What happened after the last trauma forced me to really examine myself, my purpose in this life and how I should live. I have met the most extraordinary souls in the strangest places of late and I don't think that much would surprise me now. If you're one that has been sent to help me, welcome, friend. If you're not, best wishes on your life's journey; may you be sent everyone and everything you need, as I have been.
